Just a word to say that I am still alive, but I have been gone so long from the time you represent, that I can’t dredge up those memories of Stillwater. My time is made up of looking at my mountains and listening to audio books. My beloved Glacier National Park has been swamped by hordes of people who make it impossible to enjoy its natural beauty.

Pat Casey (Robi)
EDMOND, OK
Family:
Wife Robi; two daughters Kim (PA) and Julia (KS); five grandchildren, three grandsons in college (FL, PA, NY), two youngest--grandson and granddaughter HS seniors. Our baby Sasha (a bichon) is 12.
Career: Attorney and Counsellor for 45 years with the same law firm. Enjoyed the clients, staff, work, and at first the business travel. The travel part became less than fun (snowed in closed airports Chicago, Cleveland, Kiev and delayed and cancelled flights), but left interesting memories, from horrific to hilarious. Several clients and friends stated I could not retire, because I would be bored to death--wrong. I recommend retirement in spite of the fact that I retired December 31, 2019 (the day China announced its COVID) and COVID was announced in the US on January 20, 2020. Looking back, I should have retired ten or more years earlier.
Activities: Traveling/Missed Vacations.., My longest trip since COVID has been to a doctor in NW OKC, with other less than remarkable shorter trips to our favorite dine in, Sam’s & Costco. It’s possible that in September my longest trip may be to Stillwater (53 miles). We are looking forward to the date we can start flying/traveling again to see kids, grandkids, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends, and vacation to safe new foreign destinations.
Other Activities for Fun: Spending time with Robi. Being in lock-down with Robi is like Brer Rabbit being tossed in the brier patch. Reading, and more reading. Updating the house. OU football, OU women’s gymnastics, OU women’s softball, the Thunder, hopefully maybe the Olympics. Non fun...Filing, shredding and decluttering (OK its easier said than done) and reading the obituaries (come on, at our age we all do it). To sum up my life in one word - blessed.

During this time, I met my husband, Ben, on a Caribbean Cruise and we found we lived only 10 miles from each other in Houston. Two and a half years after we married, we moved to my childhood home in Stillwater. It has been our home for over 38 years and we have undertaken several major renovation projects.

David Franklin
LAS VEGAS, NV
Life becomes a little simpler each year but still is good, primarily because my three children and three grandchildren are doing well. The major change in recent years is that my father passed away last year, after being granted more than the average time to enjoy life here. Still have the challenge that occurs often with this mobile society; all three children live far away (Seattle, Chicago, and Dublin), so don’t get to see them as much as desired, but that disadvantage is partially offset by having enjoyable places to visit.
One reflection associated with our Stillwater class is how much I have enjoyed periodic lunches with several classmates on visits to Stillwater. It is quite remarkable that a dozen or so classmates come to lunch and are all enjoyable and good persons. Quite remarkable indeed.

Gary Franklin (Nancy)

We are loving retirement life and can highly recommend it.
Volunteering: We are still members of First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, but are not as active as we once were. There is something about arthritis and back troubles that slow you down.

Career: My career was spent working for Aero Commander/Rockwell International/Gulfstream Aerospace for 37 years. My first years were in the interior shop installing interiors in Commanders. Then I moved into Industrial Design where we designed interiors and interior installations for Commanders and Rockwell Saberliners. Later I went into the Technical Publications department where I did technical illustrations for Commanders. When we became Gulfstream, I was reassigned as a Graphics and Communications Specialist and retired when the Bethany plant closed in 2002.
Activities for fun: Since retiring I have enjoyed playing golf and league bowling where I’ve had two 300 games. I’m still looking for that hole-in-one on the golf course (probably not happening).

Our daughter is a successful career woman in medical sales. Chris lives in Dallas and has two of our grandchildren, Ava and Grayson. Career: Went to Dallas after obtaining Bachelor of Music Education degree from OSU. Launched singing career; sang and played piano in hotels and clubs and recorded ad jingles and station IDs for recording studios. Left for New York to pursue singing-modeling career; did print ads with ad companies (was in major magazines), sang in clubs and was scheduled to do Off-Broadway production of By Jupiter, before leaving to get married (had met owner of Jets football through Joe Namath who introduced me to Richard Rodgers). Taught music in Lexington, Kentucky while Lynn was in dental school. Went to Nashville, when Lynn left for Viet Nam to fly helicopters. Recorded for producer Owen Bradley, Decca/MCA Records and performed in shows throughout US with Buddy Lee Attractions. Worked on and off with Lynn in our business in Tulsa, Ranger American of Oklahoma. Graduated from Rhema Bible College in 2003.
Volunteering: Lots! Put together packages in Branson, for Amanda’s committee, to auction at St. Jude Gala on Dallas Cowboy field. Enjoyed school volunteering; homeroom, and school board.
Activities just for fun: As, I’m sure with all my classmates, whatever my kids and ‘grands’ are doing is all the fun I can fit in! I’ve always studied nutrition and enjoy reading self-helps and motivational publications. Planning to release a scripture/confession book, through Austin’s publishing company, Trinity Media Group, and market container with same content.

Hobbies: Hiking, long distance cycling, wood carving, my dogs, gardening camping, point to point hiking/camping,
Traveling: China (twice), Japan, Peru, Equator, Holland (twice on biking trips), Machu Pichu, Amazon River, Galapagos Islands, British Columbia, Prudhoe Bay, AK, Northwest Territories, Tukteuckt, NWT, Tanzania and the Serengeti, Italy, St Lawrence Island, AK. We are now travelling through the desert southwest and planning an extended trip through Australia after the pandemic.
Special events, after having three children, divorce, moving to Alaska and traveling around the world: 1. Hiking the Great Wall for 7 hours the first time, 2 hours the 2nd time. 2. Seeing the Terra-cotta Warriors in China. 3. Standing at the gate in Kashgar, China, the beginning (or end) of the Silk Road. 4. Touring the Forbidden City and the Empress’ Summer Palace, in Beijing, China. 5. Floating down the Sacred Li River in Southern, China on a bamboo raft. 6. Riding a camel on the Teclamacan Desert to hear the Singing Sands and see the Half-Moon oasis. 7. Holding a BABY PANDA at a Panda Research Facility, in China, after participating in an International Internship Program at the facility and touring behind the public area feeding the pandas that were being housed there. 8. Swimming in the Arctic Ocean in Tukteuckt, NWT and Prudhoe Bay, AK. 9. Riding my bike on a solo trip across the Netherlands. 10. Biking the Historic Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, CA with three companions in 21 days. 13. Spending 2 weeks in Tanzania, 7 days on safari in the Serengeti Desert during the peak of the Great Migration. 14. We adopted an orphanage in the village of Geita, Tanzania, an unincorporated village with almost 20,000 inhabitants. We carried/dragged 3 large rolling duffle-like bags of medical supplies, books, shoes, toys, soccer balls, an air pump and puncture repair kits, crayons, plain white paper, other educational items. We also took 5 laptop computers, one for the Nun who was the director and 4 for student use. 15. Angie, my partner and I returned to Geita a year later with medical supplies for the Village medical clinic. I spent time with the doctor and his students. I was teaching them how to draw blood/start IV’s, do basic physicals, basic first aid skills, use of stethoscopes, record keeping, etc., I was able to assist because I am a Nurse Practitioner (now retired) and able to assist. This was the most difficult, but fulfilling 3 weeks I have ever had. We still support the orphanage when we can, and stay in touch with the doctor and Nun and send supplies when we can afford it. 16. I have run 5 marathons and about 2 dozen half marathons, along with numerous 10K’s to help raise money for different medical causes. 17. I have also participated in numerous 5, 10, 25K bicycle rides to help raise money for different causes. 18. One very memorable trip was to the Galapagos Islands, this was part of the South American trip to Ecuador and Peru; getting to see Lonesome George, the world’s oldest giant tortoise just months prior to his death; to walk with other giant tortoises; to swim with Galapagos penguins; to see the Blue Footed Boobies and the sea iguana.
It has been a busy life but fulfilling. There is still a lot left to do and see. I am back in school, again, taking a class in advanced wood carving. I do lots of other wood working projects, furniture making and other do-it-yourself projects.
During this pandemic I organized a group of neighbors in our little village to make masks for our townspeople, the native pueblos that are nearby, and other groups around the state. Our little 5 person group made over 7000 masks that have been dispensed all over New Mexico. We are preparing to start sewing again because of the rapid spread of the Delta+ variant that is causing more mask mandates.
I won’t be coming to the reunion, it is much safer to stay home. Angie has had to battle breast cancer and is in remission. Better to be safe than sorry.
