George Holman
DALLAS, TX
Family:
I have one son, Greg, age 57. He’s the pop culture guru for Heritage Auctions here in Dallas. He and my lovely daughter-in-law live two houses away. I’m covered.
Career: Well, the first part was academic. After getting degrees in Psychology and Architecture at OSU, I went to the University of California at Berkeley for a change in environment. After getting my Masters in Architecture, I was selected for their new PhD program in Environmental Design. After completing the course work, I had become bored and took an indefinite leave of absence to develop modular mobile environments. I built a prototype modular motorhome with the backing of Chrysler Motors. During discussions with investors, the gas crisis of the 70’s hit and the investors vanished. After some reflection I decided to become an artist and use my motor home prototype to travel to art shows peddling my paintings. At one of those art shows in Dallas I was hired on the spot to join the art faculty at the newly-founded University of Texas at Dallas. The following year I was made chairman of the art department and charged with the design and building for the art department, hiring new faculty and developing an interdisciplinary program. When that was done I took my leave and relaxed for a while. I did some free lance design, painted some and just enjoyed life. My next gig was an exhibit designer where I designed spaces for major corporations to put their best foot and product forward. That led to the design of science center interactive exhibits. Now I paint. Only painting. Well, an occasional design job. It’s been, and is still being fun.
Volunteering: I serve on several boards of directors for public projects.
Activities for Fun: Reading, thinking, painting, traveling and working on the house and studio I designed and built.

Am doing fine in Kingwood, TX. Have been here now for (47) years. Still working at Frank Jay & Associates, an executive search firm focused on the Airline, Aviation & Aerospace Industries for 35 years, with my son, Steve. Have four grandchildren (ages 25, 22, 20, 19) who are pretty amazing…just like their parents. Still waiting on Lauren to add to the group, but she has plenty of time since she is 31 years old and just got married last September. Roxanne and I travel often enough but work still keeps me plenty busy and I expect it to continue for a while yet. Other hobbies include attending all Houston Texans home games…even though their season looks pretty painful this year. Also, we attend Houston Astros games at home when we can. Still keep up with the OSU Cowboys and watch them every chance that I get on TV.

Tom Kinnick
& Priscilla Washinka
Kinnick
STILLWATER, OK
Tom has retired from managing the Kinnick Properties warehouse he and his siblings built and lease on the old family farm east of town. He still goes out there nearly every day to check on and visit with the tenants, but has passed on the managerial responsibilities.
Priscilla’s time is divided among a local Zoom yoga class, Zumba, learning abstract painting online and occasional fused glass commissions. She always has an audio book to listen to as well as a book to read.
After we received both vaccine shots, we began traveling on gambling (Tom’s hobby) junkets for the first time in a year. The first destination, Reno, NV is where our granddaughter, Olivia lives. Our school teacher daughter, Jacque, was on Spring Break and vaccinated, so she flew in from Denver. It was a happy week. After trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi, MS, we met again at Lake Tahoe in June. By then Kyle, Jacque’s husband, had been vaccinated so he came along. Other Kinnick extended family members were there, too, for a mini family reunion. While we were in Lake Tahoe we celebrated our 60th Wedding Anniversary!

Family:
After being a girl-less twit for 20 years, I married the All-American girl from Sapulpa, an Annette Funicello look-alike. We have two sons, both thriving professionally, socially and spiritually, and three grand children, all teenagers, who are navigating adolescence without life-shaking drama.
Career: Eighteen years as a teacher and principal in Somalia, Abu Dhabi, Venezuela and the USA. Then, God called me into ministry, and I spent the next twenty-six years as a pastor to children in Minnesota and California. Highlights are many--seeing the sun rise over Mount Everest, looking out on Africa from atop Mount Kilimanjaro, but the greatest is helping several thousand people, mostly children, establish a life-saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Volunteering: Lots of it. Good New Clubs with Child Evangelism Fellowship, teaching Somali adults to read, teaching Sunday School teachers in Guatemala, Mexico, Hungary, Nigeria and Uganda. Serving at church, teaching pre-schoolers through adults. Getting to know our neighbors in our new development. The immediate neighbors are professionals from China, Libya, India, Brazil, Lebanon, Nigeria, Iran and Columbia.

I met and married a geologist, W.C. Thrower. We merged families, six children and five were teenagers. During the recession, I took the package and paid off our retirement home at Lake Livingston. I worked five years in the Medical Center, then got back into oil and gas, retiring at 55 with Valero Energy.

We then moved to Golden, CO, to help with and be closer to our grandchildren.
Volunteering: I am still on the Board of the North American Quitline Consortium (tobacco quit lines). The pandemic has delayed our venturing into the community very much.
Activities for Fun: We are with our grandchildren most days in some capacity. What could be more fun?
We have a beautiful place to walk in our neighborhood not far from North Table Mountain and in recent months have been going to the Red Rocks Amphitheater and walking the steps there. That will get your heart rate up--at least it does mine! And the vista itself is breathtaking without the exercise! Definitely Bucket List!
We have traveled with our son and family to various places in Colorado such as Winter Park and Crested Butte. We gave up skiing for the sake of our joints, but enjoy hiking. We recently went to the Wild Flower Festival in Crested Butte. Another Bucket List!
I am writing this before this event happens, but we plan on going on a Danube cruise with Mike and BJ McWherter in September. We hope to share these memories with many of you who have taken this cruise.
I am starting guitar lessons along with our grandson We were enjoying the Colorado Symphony when CoVID struck, but we are now back with that enjoyment. We have gone to two of their summer offerings at Red Rocks, which many tell us is the finest outdoor musical experience anywhere, and something you really should experience.

Don McCroskey
PERKINS, OK
Family:
I have two sons, Donald and Scott, as well as a daughter, Lynne. I am twice divorced. I have four step daughters by the second marriage. There are two grandsons by the first marriage and a granddaughter. Although there are several step-grandchildren by the second marriage I have only been able to develop any relationship with two of them.
Career: Upon graduation from OSU in January 1966, I entered the Air Force in March of that year. I served in the Air Force as a commissioned officer until I retired in February 1987. After the Air Force I ran a high school ROTC unit in Ohio for three years. When the school’s staff was downsized, I returned to Stillwater. After an extended period of unemployment, I got into public education. I re-educated myself and spent 12 years as a Special Education teacher in Cushing. I still work part time as the librarian for the Cushing Pre-K program.
Volunteering: As mentioned above I work as a Pre-K librarian. I get paid for six hours per week. The job takes much more time than that. Whatever more time is needed is pure volunteerism. As a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic Men’s service organization, I participate in a wide range of volunteer projects. I am also involved with Stephen Ministers, an outreach program for those needing help with life issues. Stillwater has six churches actively involved with this ministry I have been volunteering this way since 2002. Over the years I have served in other volunteer activities, but the above is the extent at this time.
Activities for fun: Fun activities would be fishing as much as possible. I am also a member of the Stillwater Rifle and Pistol Club, where I participate in trap shooting and Cowboy Action Shooting.

Barbara MurrayCaldwell
PONCA CITY, OK
Family:
Johnny Caldwell and I married right after graduation and 18 months later had our first child and had four kids in five years. They all grew up to be great kids and gave us eleven wonderful grandchildren, who gave us nine great-grands. Our grands and greats are our life. We enjoy them so much, they are always here to help with what we need!
We lived in Stillwater until 1968 when Johnny was transferred with OTASCO to Altus. We lived there for two years, then transferred to Lawrence, Kansas, where we lived for five years before he left the company and we moved back to Ponca City, OK. He got his electrical license and joined the union and we stayed here from then on.
I retired in 2008 from Pioneer Technology Center with 23 years of service. I truly love retirement and being able to be on the go and do whatever I want, whenever I want!
In 2004 we lost our oldest son, John III, to a brain aneurism at the age of 40. Such a sad time in our lives. In 2018 our youngest son Chris died of a heart attack at age 51. Then 27 days later my husband, Johnny, died at the age of 77. My heart was once more broken in a million pieces! Our two daughters survive and take wonderful care of me (not that I need it LOL!) Jeanne is a nurse and Dianna is a teacher. I am in excellent health except for a bad back. I keep myself busy with volunteering at the local hospital and my church work. I truly enjoy lunch with friends and family!
I so look forward to our 60th reunion in October and hope a lot of our classmates can make it.

Barbara Needham Butcher (Duane Butcher)
ARLINGTON, VA
To catch everyone up on the past five years. My husband and I moved to Arlington, VA in 2016. Both our boys moving there was the impetus for our move from Grand Junction, CO. I wanted to be with the grandchildren, but I really loved GJ. We compromised and bought a pied-a-terre in GJ, so I could go there and visit several times a year.
The move was arduous --emptying a large house of much accumulation of “stuff”, much of which was purchased during our overseas assignments. I spent a year coming and going and disposing of, throwing away, and distributing those goods. Moving to a house half or less in size was a challenge.
We have enjoyed the grandchildren. They are growing up and we were here at a perfect time to participate in or watch their games and performances.
Son, Duane Jr., is retiring from the State Dept. this year after 30 plus years. His wife, Nazilia and their two boys moved to DC in 2016, which is what precipitated our move. Their older boy, Kenny, 20, is a junior at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. He is anxious for school to start again---especially as he has a girlfriend. His brother Cameron, 17, is a senior at Washington and Liberty High School in Arlington, VA. He is busy with volleyball and soccer, sometimes other sports and is a good student.
Our younger son is Christopher who, with his wife Ali, owns a computer software development company. Their oldest child is Cecilia, 21, who is studying at Cal Arts in Santa Clarita, CA. She will be a junior as she took the pandemic year off. She said it was too much money to spend and not get a quality education. Her field required labs and studios and equipment, which is not available outside the school. Eric, 17, is also at Washington and Liberty High School. He is quite sports minded and very social. The youngest of the grands is Grace, 15, who is attending an alternative high school in Arlington, HP Woodlawn, and loving the freedom which it allows. Grace is a good student and enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and soccer.
We took Christopher’s family to Turkey year before last for a two week nostalgia trip. Turkey was our first and second Foreign Service assignments with the State Dept., so we relived our memories from 1963-67, it was a great trip. Duane Jr.’s family, having lived in many parts of the world, didn’t have the same interest in going with us.
Settling into a large, busy, crowded city after 20+ years of living in a small town was a bit of a culture shock, but made up for by the proximity of the grands. City living is really not for me.
Recently I was diagnosed with breast cancer and have been battling that during the pandemic.

Wayne Otsuki (Katrine)
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA
I hope everyone has been in good health. We are fortunate that we are all well.
Family: My wife, Katrine, and I have been married for just over 38 years. We have one son, Jonathon. He and his wife, Sayoko, live a few miles away, so we are fortunate to be able to see them frequently.
Career: I retired from The Aerospace Corporation in 2017 after working there for 50 years on a variety of Air Force space and ground system projects.
Volunteering: I volunteer (mostly sound board technician) at our nearby Lutheran Church.
Activities For Fun: I’ve always enjoyed playing bridge, and during the pandemic I played way too much. Our local clubs went online, so I was able to stay in touch with bridge friends. The clubs are now starting to open up for in-club play, and it is nice to see everyone again.
Activities for fun: My wife and I like to travel. Most of our travel lately has been in California and surrounding states. Early in the pandemic we started hiking the numerous nearby trails, and we recently took up bird watching. We are fortunate that Katrine met a local expert who conducts Saturday morning hikes. We found out that two sets of peregrine falcons have nests on some nearby cliffs where we hike, and we have been fortunate to see them raise their families there the last two years.
We also just took up golfing, mostly par 3 courses, which we really enjoy. I recall that my interest in golf came to an abrupt end many years ago when I was playing with Jim Gray in Stillwater, and I lost all of my golf balls in the creek and had to quit before the end of the round. Fortunately, there are no creeks on the course we play. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Attended OSU, Fashion Design Major, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Met and married Mark Bouton, Sigma Chi fraternity.
Moved to Norman where Mark graduated law school at OU. He joined the FBI and off we went on our 17 year journey, moving 7 times: Mobile, AL, New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Brownsville, and San Antonio.
During that time our sons were born: Scott David in 1966 and Chad Edward, 1971. Scott is now an attorney in Austin, TX. Chad is Vice President of Feinstein Research Institute, New York. He is well known worldwide for his mapping of nerves in the brain that connect to parts of the body. He is helping people regain feelings and movement in their arms and legs. I have 4 grandchildren: Chris and Jackie, Scott and Georgina’s children. Will and Abby are Chad and Heidi’s children.
Second Phase of my life: Became single in San Antonio in 1982
• I was a District manager for a National Chain of gift stores. I managed 26 store managers across the south. I was elected District manager of the year and worked for the company for 10 years.
• Met Pete Romer in 1984 and got married in 1986.
• Moved to Ames, Iowa in Sept. 1986 where he was Vice President of Operations for Coach House Gifts (Hallmark) stores until his retirement in 2010.
• During this time I went to work for an event planning company, ITA, where I was a travel director for 15 years. I got to travel to many beautiful domestic destinations and European countries and cities: Greece, Italy, Japan, Budapest and London to name a few.
Activities in Ames: Include restoring a sail boat and learning to sail. In addition Gourmet Club, Bridge Club, ADII Financial Adviser for the chapter on the ISU Campus, and Delegate to Panhellenic National Convention.
Activities in Huxley: When we moved from Ames to Huxley, 8 miles south, we continued sailing, became officers in the Sailing club, started a Gourmet Club, Bridge Club, joined a Bunco group and started a garden. We have grown tomatoes, beans, okra, squash, peppers, and even tried cabbages, Brussel sprouts, radishes, lettuces and so many more. It was fun to experiment.
While living here in Deer Creek, a neighborhood of 36 homes, I started a Ladies Night Out Group so that we could all get to know each other. We had 10 years of great parties with many themes and fun outings. This activity led me to get a Homeowners Board organized and organized committees to work on bylaws, covenants and elect officers.
Retirement Activities: Pete retired 2010 and he said I should too!! Sailing and gardening. Traveling to see:
• Chad and Heidi in New York, including train rides into the city from Connecticut to see Broadway shows, and Christmas in NYC to the see the lights and Rockefeller center all light up for the Christmas season. Eating Lobster rolls was a must and boating on the Long Island Sound near Chad’s home. Scott and Georgina in Austin. Siblings in Dallas. Pete’s son Robert and grandchildren, Kealin and Tristan who live on the Oregon coast, just blocks from the ocean. There we saw the most beautiful country. Florida to see friends, who now have second homes there.
For ten years now I have been lobbing to move south near the ocean or a big lake... That is another story.

Pam Phillips Bartels (John S. Bartels)
ST. LOUIS, MO
Family:
My husband John has B.A. Degree, M.Div Degree and M.R.E. Degree. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Relations and Child Development from OSU and M.Div Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX where I met and fell in love with ‘John the Baptist’! We both had wonderful parents, a brother for me, two sisters for John and plenty of nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family, all ages! We took care of my mother for 15+ years while pastoring.
Career: My career started out in Child Welfare which included about everything but financial assistance, like placing children in Foster Homes and doing Foster Home Studies, doing reports for the court regarding relatives adopting related children, working with Juvenile Delinquents, Child Neglect, Unmarried Mothers, Adoptive Studies and Placement. worked with children and teenagers in their homes and/or Foster Homes, held Foster Parent meetings. I was a commercial loan secretary in a bank and became the secretary to the Trust Department of the bank. I enjoyed being a Kelly Girl and doing substitute teaching etc. Most of my career, so-to-speak, has been as a Pastor’s wife both in Oklahoma and Missouri! While I was at OSU, I was a Summer Missionary in Youngstown, OH and in Portland, OR. Also was a camp counselor at a Henry Danforth Camp near Lake Michigan.
Volunteering: I volunteer to do church bulletins, type treasurer’s reports, help with outreach, lead singing whatever, direct and help with children and youth activities. We took lots of children to Camp Kiamichi and youth to Falls Creek Youth Camp in Davis, OK.
I love to tell anybody that Jesus Christ died for their sins and will forgive them if they want to accept Him as their Lord and Savior forever and ever! Helping lead people of any age to Jesus is great joy and to see them happy and with a home in Heaven to look forward to.
John and I have helped set up a Salvation Army Volunteer Service Unit in a town in Oklahoma, of which he was a co-chairman, and I was secretary. We worked with the Ministerial Alliance with good coordination. In some towns, churches get together for Thanksgiving and John has preached at different places and is always asked back again. One time, I got to sing. John taught the first ever college level credit Bible Studies for the State of Oklahoma at Conners Correctional Facility in Hominy, OK. He taught nine semesters as an Adjunct Professor. Some prisoners left and went on to college! We did not do that together, but we did volunteer to help with Laura Engles Wilder Festival Days (Little House on the Prairie) in Mansfield, MO.
We did community Cantatas on one church field for Christmas and Easter. I love to do Christmas Nativity productions in churches using as many people as I can from the churches to do the parts, and make use of the whole Sanctuary and people from 2 years up to 76, so far!
John and I had a great honeymoon in Lake of the Ozarks, MO! And we had a weekend vacation in Branson, MO! We had a vacation to see John’s parent’s which included seeing Mammouth Cave in Kentucky, Niagara Falls on both American and Canadian sides and Casa Loma Castle in Toronto, Canada, on our way to Champaign, Illinois!

OVERLAND PARK, KS
Family:
We have a blended family of 5 children, 10 grands, and 1 great with another due in October. Jennifer and Georgie live in our area, Scott in Kaufman, TX, Steve in Wichita, and Nancy in NC.
Career-activities, etc. Retired in 2002 from teaching. Now I am just a wife, Mom, Momma, Grammy. Still enjoy playing in the dirt, creating gardens that bring me joy. Of course, as the years have gone by, the size of these has decreased, but there’s always plenty to do. I enjoy spending time at the community center and participating in a variety of strength and aerobic classes. Trying to stay active and in “shape”, whatever that means for one of my maturity, and it definitely helps my “happiness” level, Still love music and dancing. Have read a number of books over the past year or so, more than normal, but then again, since we were mostly “home bound” it was great way to pass the time.
Now my (our) focus is getting rid of all the things we have “saved”, accumulated, over the years, wondering “why”? Last few months have concentrated on lower level, which had become an “out of sight, out of mind” area.
Dave and I have spent the “winter” months in Florida every year, until this past one, since 2004. We sold our travel trailer in 2012 and discovered Stuart, FL on the Atlantic side. Found a condo community called Monterey Yacht & Country Club. A bit of a misnomer, but they did have a boat launch, and a 9-hole golf course on premises. We came home early last March because of the pandemic, and of course, did not return this past winter. First time in 16+ years that we have experienced a Kansas winter. It was a rather large change in lifestyle, but the winter wasn’t too bad. (read a lot of books)
What do we do for fun? See above, and we do travel to NC usually twice a year to keep up with Nancy, Robin and the Super Six grands plus 3 spouses. Only two of the six have moved out of NC, and the one in GA always comes back to see us. The other is in the Coast Guard and it depends on where he is stationed when we are there. We enjoy seeing Georgie’s girls in NKC, spending time with Jennifer’s Camille, who graduated from Nebraska U in Lincoln, worked in pediatrics in a local Omaha hospital, and will soon be an RN (July), and Caleigh, recent K-State grad.

LOUISBURG, NC
Family:
Married in 1980 to Glena L. Collins of Houston, TX. We have two children, Rachel born in 1981 and Laura born in 1983. We also have two grandchildren, Ella born in 2010 and Cora born in 2015. Glena and I divorced in 2013. I remarried in 2018 to Gilma Jimenez. Gilma is a native of Colombia, South America and we usually live 6 mos. in Colombia and 6 mos. in the U.S. in the Raleigh, NC area.
Career: I attended one year of college at OSU after graduating from SHS in 1961. Then I entered the Jesuit Order of the Roman Catholic Church with the intention of becoming a RC priest. After studying for the priesthood for 7 years, I left the order in 1969. I taught in a St. Louis H.S. for one year before returning to OSU for 2 years to study Mathematical Statistics. I did not complete that master’s degree program, because I moved to Houston to join a lay church community of the Episcopal Church located in the inner city of Houston. I lived in that community for 4 years, working in a half-way house for men who suffered from various forms of addictions for 2 years. Then I returned to teaching in H.S., this time in a mostly black inner city H.S. in Houston.
While continuing to teach H.S. I began to take summer school and night school classes in Accounting at the Univ. of Houston and completed an M.S. in Accounting in 1978. I left teaching and went to work at an Oil and Gas company in Houston (Tenneco Oil Co) in 1977 and obtained CPA certification in 1978.
I worked in various companies as an accountant usually as a Controller/Treasurer in a small to medium-sized company for the next 35 years until I retired from full-time accounting work in the summer of 2013 after my divorce.
I was very saddened by the divorce and moved out of town up to Vermont for 2 years to live close to my older daughter’s family and only grandchild at the time, while my son-in-law pursued an MBA at Dartmouth College. I followed them to the D.C. area in the fall of 2015 and then, after meeting Gilma in the spring of 2016. She and I moved to the Raleigh, NC area in the fall of 2016, where we are still living today, unless we are in Colombia. We lived all of 2020 in Colombia due to the Corona virus pandemic that prevented flights back to the U.S. We were finally able to return to the U.S. in January of 2021. I continue to do part-time accounting and tax work as a CPA.
Volunteering: I have served on the Church boards of several of the churches that I have attended the Episcopal, Lutheran, Quaker, and Catholic Christian traditions. I have taught Sunday school classes for a number of years, particularly at the Lutheran Church in Friendswood, TX, which included courses in New Testament Greek and in Man’s Search for God in the Modern World. I also began and led a men’s reading group of men from several different churches in Friendswood for about 3 years. While living in Vermont I volunteered to do the accounting and financial reporting for a small non-profit organization that ministers to people afflicted with HIV or Hepatitis C. After I left Vermont, I have continued to assist the Executive Director of this agency with preparing the accounting records and financial statements for an annual audit.
Activities For Fun: I like to read books, watch sports, watch movies and TV series, golf (a little), go on walks and travel. The books I read are some for fun and some are more serious. The more serious ones are philosophical, religious, or political in nature or great literary works. I especially love reading about some of the archaeological discoveries in the ancient near East where recent digs have provided voluminous evidence of the presence of Hebrew people living in ancient Egypt in the Nile Delta area. These discoveries have resulted in the construction of a new chronology of Egyptian history that goes a long way in resolving chronological inconsistencies in traditional ancient Egyptian chronology that have also spilled over into the chronology of other ancient civilizations that were affected by Egypt, such as Syria, Babylon, Persia, and Israel.
I also like studying some of the work being done by various independent scientific groups who are studying climate change issues and trying to separate fact from fiction and science from political distortion. One such group was formed by over 50 retired NASA scientists in the Houston area who worked together for several years to develop a global warming (or cooling) model that is able to use climate data gathered over the past 150 years and accurately predict the earth’s global temperature from the climate data during this time period. The group claims that no other model thus far developed by other researchers has been able to meet this standard. The scientists involved in the group, called “The Right Climate Stuff”, have used the procedures developed at NASA during the moon landings era. The principal feature of this approach was to always VERIFY the results of the data before acting on anything. In their studies of the earth’s climate, they have discovered that many assertions have been and continue to be made about future temperatures of the earth that are based solely on various mathematical models that have been proposed by various parties or official governmental bodies, but which lack actual verification. Another group whose work in this area from whom I have learned much and come to admire is that of the Heartland Institute. I hope to once again this year be able to attend its annual Conference on Climate Change.
Finally, I hope to complete a writing endeavor I began some years ago about my life experiences. It is mostly for family and friends, but it will include a fairly lengthy section on growing up in Stillwater. I really liked a written piece that Gary Leonard did a few years ago when he wrote about some of his H.S. experiences which he sent out to class members. I wanted to reciprocate with a story or two of my own at the time, but just didn’t find the time to do so. I had hoped that others in our class would contribute similar stories of their own as well. If I don’t make it to the reunion, I am going to commit to doing a written memoir similar to what Gary did and send it out to the class as a way of being present for this year’s reunion. Or maybe I will be able to do both! I cherish the many fond memories I have of so many of you.

HOLLAND, MI
Family:
Husband, David, retired 2010 from wood finishing management. His primary activity is gardening and turned our yard into one of beauty. He recently moved from riding his Harley to a cool Priority bicycle, which he rides several miles a day. Our son, Jeff, lives in Frisco, TX with wife Holly. He has made marketing his career and works for a large company in Dallas. Our daughter, Cara, is a bank officer and manager of a call center (customer service) in Amarillo. She has two sons, Kyler & Jayden, and a new grandson, our 1st great-grandson, Jordan who we are going down to visit soon.
Career: I attended Emporia State KS on the urging of my mom. I had a great social life, but did not like the academics. I went back to Chicago and graduated from an administrative secretarial program in 1964 which I loved. Held administrative office positions off and on 1964 -1977. I was asked to start a training program for a sheltered workshop where I was working as a secretary. I did so and worked with persons with disabilities helping them gain work experience, employment, and services to become independent at the workshop and then for the schools helping special needs students who were graduating. In 1992, I decided to re-enter office work and finished my career as an executive assistant/HR Manager/Trainer for two small manufacturing companies, retiring in 2009. We moved to Kansas in 2010 and was asked to assume a financial support position and genealogy support for customers at a small local historical society/museum in El Dorado, KS. I also formed a monthly genealogy group. After four years, we moved back to Holland, MI.
Volunteering: I became a fourth generation DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) member while in Kansas and continued when moving back here – spending the last 9 years researching lineages for prospective member applications, as well as activities honoring military service/persons, providing educational support (reading, pen pal) for a 3rd grade class, and other community service, i.e. supplying filled backpacks for foster care children, placing flags at cemeteries, Wreaths Across America, etc. Have given genealogy programs for the community college in Kansas as well as locally for the library and museum. When my children were young, taught Sunday school, worked with Campfire Girls and Cub Scout programs.
Activities for Fun: Since 1988 I have been researching my own genealogy lineages, spin wool–sheep, alpaca, goat mohair into yarn, knit, and a little quilting. I love to cook (inherited from my mom) and am currently learning to make
and eat plant-based meals.

Bill Smith (Judith)
DENISON, TX
Career:
At Texas Instruments I was part of inventing light emitting diodes. After 20 years with TI, I joined one of the biggest glass shops in the world. We specialized in Quartz glassware for the Semiconductor industry.
I worked for this company for about 6 years. I was their best producer. Then I tried building my own shop in Denton, TX. I had a great time for a while, but had to close my shop in 1993. I was a great builder but a lousy salesperson.
I took a glassblowing job in Freeport Texas for almost a year. I got a call from The University of North Texas, where I moved to work the last 18 years till I had a stroke that forced me to retire. It was an interesting 50 years and I loved blowing glass.
Family: I remarried my first wife Judy and we live in Denison, TX just three miles from the Texoma Dam. We only got married three times. During those years we raised a son and daughter. My son was a genius with racing motors and went to a trade school for free because he was so good with motors. He machined racing motors. He was taken from us when a young lady cut him down from his motorcycle, when she cut across his lane on February, Friday the 13th full moon 1987.
My daughter married young and at first was cutting hair. A few years later she took up nursing school and is really enjoying it. She spent a few years with a service that had her moving around the country living out of their camper. But they are home again in Valley View, TX. They have around 700 acres and just built a new house. She now wants to teach nursing at the college she got her start in. She is very good at her work.
No volunteering. We are not active any more. Watching TV is all we do.

I did pre-press work for 25 years. I continue to use these skills to do newsletters for many of the organizations for which I now do volunteer work.
Volunteering: Volunteer work seems full time. I publish newsletters for two Corvette Clubs and do most of the photography andwriting. I also have run the Heart Ties Quilting Mission at our church for about 10 years. Our group produces 200+ quilts of various sizes that are donated to children’s homes, nursing homes, rehab facilities and other residential facilities in Oklahoma and Texas. Until granddaughter, Piper, left for college in NYC I spent years sewing and altering costumes for plays and other performances. Bill and I regularly collect donations at car shows and swap meets for Patriot Paws Service Dogs and tell people about the way they train dogs free for Veterans and their program to give prisoners opportunities to learn to do part of the dogs’ training.
Just for fun: Actually, the volunteer work is what I do for fun. Car clubs have always been the base of our social life. Bill has restored old Corvettes for 50 years.

Judy and I will be celebrating our 39th anniversary this October. When we met in Tulsa, she had custody of her two children and I had custody of my three. Now between our blended family we have a total twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The biggest problem we have is they are scattered across the country.
Since Judy and I have been married we have lived in Tulsa, Phoenix, Nashville and Memphis due to my numerous promotions with Wonder/Hostess. I retired in 2008 and Judy retired from Service Master in 2014 and we retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas.
We always enjoyed living in the Desert and decided to sell our home this June and bought a home in Green Valley, Arizona. We moved here over two months ago and are still getting settled in. We just moved to Arizona from Bella Vista, AR. There was too much rain and cold weather there for me to play golf as often as I would like. Now I am surrounded by golf courses in the sun.

LAMPE, MO
Family:
I was married 38 years to Charles Douglass from Camp May, NJ. We landed in Branson, MO in 1987, where we owned a resort for 10 years. We had owned two other businesses in New Jersey. We had two daughters. Cheryl lives in the Branson area and Terri lives in Overland Park, KS. Terry and hubby Mark have two daughters. Cheryl and hubby Jack have two girls and a boy.
I lost Charlie to cancer in April, 2004, In October 2009 I married Daryl Roudybush, and he had two daughters and seven grandchildren. I lost him to heart problems in December 2017. We were married eight years. Both were great Christian men our Lord decided to take home, but I will see them again! Wish it hadn’t been thus, but I enjoyed the time with each.
Career: Last job was the resort we owned on Indian Point outside Branson, MO, close to Silver Dollar City. That was a fun, but very busy period. Charlie worked for Silver Dollar City for several years after we sold the resort.
Volunteering/Activities: Both husbands were involved with our church and gave many hours in various areas. Charlie and Daryl both enjoyed helping wherever they could, whether on a work project in another state, helping in the community, or at work or at home. Both were very aware of others’ needs around them.
Charlie and I traveled mostly between Oklahoma and New Jersey, and several years we lived in Connecticut. We enjoyed Cape May as it still is a beautiful summer shore community. Our girls really grew up on the beach and still miss those beautiful days.
Daryl had lost his wife to cancer a few years before we met. We went to the same church, but traveled different paths until our church decided to join a community cancer walk and they asked both of us to serve on the committee. Guess you could say, “...and the rest is history!” We found we shared many interests, including travel. He had a 32-ft RV and when I say we put lots of miles on it, you can believe it! Our longest trip was an 81-day trip thru three National parks, and north from Glacier into Canada, across to Alaska, What a great time we had. We drove 14,000 miles and were in total awe of Alaska.
Another great trip we took had to do with Daryl’s Missionary sister, Janet, in Brazil. She was coming up on 60 years on the mission field, and he had never been to see her work. His first wife, Leanna, was afraid to fly. We traveled to Rio and spent three delightful days with a young missionary couple and their four children. Janet was in the northeastern part and we were in several places on the way to where she still teaches in a seminary there. Our final stop before departing was in Manaus. This was special to me because I had always dreamed of seeing the rain forests and the Amazon River. I fell in love with their people. God has definitely been good to me.

My children are special to us, of course. Cathy is COO at a bank in OKC. Christy is in Rockwall TX and has two children and two grandchildren. I have to say my grandson is a rocket scientist with SPACEX in the Waco area. My grandaughter is a licenced nutritionist and has her own company in Dallas.
We are very satisfied to be retired in our home town where we can attend OSU girls basketball and other things. Jan has her sister and brother and family here too. We are slowing a lot, but have had some great trips.
